The region of Las Hurdes, in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, is one of the most environmentally unaltered territories in the whole Iberian Peninsula, offering a great wealth of melliferous and polliniferous plants that, for a long time, have made beekeeping a preponderant activity in the area.
In this environment, and since 1992, Apihurdes has focused its efforts on the development of beekeeping within the framework of a social and rural economy, respectful of the environment and competitive in the most demanding markets.
The compatibility of these objectives is reflected in our presence and recognition by important companies throughout Europe, Japan and the United States.
Beekeeper and Nature
Beekeepers are well aware of the importance of bees for the preservation of natural and biodiverse ecosystems, which is why they dedicate their best efforts to maintaining strong and healthy apiaries.
Systematic analysis in our own and external laboratories, strict compliance with the legal requirements of traceability and control of critical points, make the concepts of quality and food safety an accomplished goal for Apihurdes.
